Mikko Heinonen, introduction

Hi, my name is Mikko! 

I'm 25 years old and currently studying business-IT in Turku University of Applied Sciences (3rd year). My main interests are information security, user experience & user-friendliness, design and general usability when it comes to IT stuff.

Music and playing guitar are close to my heart and take up most of my free time. I also like to exercise, cook and read when I have the time. I'm somewhat interested in global politics too.

My personal strengths are calmness, patience and open-mindedness (I like to explore different viewpoints just for the fun of it). I recognize some pedantic tendencies in me and I often find myself looking for new perspectives and broader views.

My first "real" job was for the now infamous Posti, the next summers I worked as a secretary in hospital wards (I used to study nursing but eventually decided that it was not for me).
After starting my business-IT studies I worked in website development team for Scandinavian Outdoor. I'm currently working as a project coordinator for If in their server optimization project.

I expect to learn more about project working and management throughout this course. Our groups assignment is fascinating because I feel like we can make a visible difference and improve a service that most of students in Turku (myself included) use daily!
